Gecko Garden
This painting was commissioned for a particular wall (shown below) and the client wanted the top of the picture to follow the angle of the ceiling. It is done in a lighthearted style that is more graphic than realistic which fits well with the modern furnishings of the room. Three fanciful geckos cavort on large Monstera leaves. The painting incorporates metallic gold and silver touches in the stylized stone wall and thin outlines around the graceful plants. The metallics catch and reflect the light as you move around the room creating a very pleasurable effect. This is a style that I plan to explore further in future paintings.
