Painting: Mokolii Island
Mokolii Island is located on the Northeast side of Oahu near the town of Kaaawa. When I chose this scene for the painting, I just wanted to paint the spectacular view. But after completing the painting, I found it pleasantly amusing that one of the tiniest elements in the painting ended up being a strong focal point so I decided to name it for the tiny little island that always catches my eye in this scene.
