Live Without Fear

Overview

Following God can bring comfort and security which can enable us to live without fear. This page is filled with wonderful and comforting promises from God to those who acknowledge God, accept Jesus as their Savior and live for Him.

Deuteronomy 6:1-2
1 These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.

Deuteronomy 6:24
The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today.

Psalm 91 (select verses)
(Because of copyright, I cannot reprint this entire psalm, but you should read all of it: It is jam-packed with beautiful and comforting promises from God, in which He vows to protect and provide for the people who love Him. It covers just about everything we will encounter in this life. I have added my comments in blue text.)

2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge (the place I run to when I am afraid)
and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." (the place where I am safe from attack)
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare (from those who lie hidden, waiting to trap you)
and from the deadly pestilence. (from things too small to notice, but too numerous to defend against, which devour and destroy your health, finances, ministry, etc.)
4 He will cover you with his feathers, (shield you)
and under his wings you will find refuge; (protect you)
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. (His unflagging faithfulness will be your armor)
5 You will not fear the terror of night, (unseen things that overtake you when you are asleep and defenseless)
nor the arrow that flies by day, (attacks, whether targeted or random, overt or covert)
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, (insidious unseen destroyers)
nor the plague that destroys at midday. (terrifying destroyers that can be seen)

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling —
even the LORD, who is my refuge —
10 then no harm will befall you, (complete protection)
no disaster will come near your tent. (your dwelling)
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways; (angelic protectors)
13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; (not only will you be protected, God will turn the tables on the devil and his minions and YOU WILL SPOIL THEM!)
you will trample the great lion and the serpent. (you will TRIUMPH AGAINST SATAN!)
14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; (universal insurance)
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. (complete coverage)
15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; (you cry out for help, He answers)
I will be with him in trouble, (trouble may come, but God will be with you)
I will deliver him and honor him. (bonus package: you'll be rescued, vindicated and honored for your faith)
16 With long life will I satisfy him (God will add years to your life)
and show him my salvation." (after you are satisfied with living, you get to go to HEAVEN!)

Proverbs 1:32
32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:25-26
25 Have no fear of sudden disaster
or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked

26 for the LORD will be your confidence
and will keep your foot from being snared.

Matthew 6:25-34 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? 28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
